Welcome |
|
The Crystal Laboratory of the Faculty of Physics is mainly a service laboratory open to the different experimental working groups of the faculty, but also provides help and consulting for members of other faculties and universities in Germany and abroad. In rare cases we also provide help for private industry if there is a common scientific interest. Besides that, a growing crystal growth activity has been developed during the last years, which enabled us to rebuild our laboratory with very modern crystal growth facilities, characterization and machining equipment. The Crystal Lab. nowadays contributes to the work of the Research Unit FOR538 of the German Science Foundation with growth, orientation and cutting of high temperature superconductor crystals and to the Excellence Cluster “Origin and Structure of the Universe” of the Technical University Munich by to growth of CaWO4 detector crystals of several cm in diameter for the CRESST experiment. |
