How to Get Here
From the Main Station Using Public Transport
If you reach Munich via train at the main station proceed the following steps. Follow the signs downstairs to the S-Bahn station. Take any S-Bahn heading into direction Marienplatz or Ostbahnhof. Leave the train at the station Marienplatz (this will take only 3 minutes). Follow the signs to the U6 underground towards Garching-Forschungszentrum. Take the U6 until the final station Garching-Forschungszentrum (about 25 minutes). The Physics-Department I is only 200 meters away. Just follow the signs to the main entrance.

From the Airport Using Public Transport
Arriving Munich at the international airport, you have to look for the S-Bahn signs. Get on the S8 heading to Hauptbahnhof. At the third station called Ismaning (13 minutes later) leave the S-Bahn and take the bus no. 230. Get off the bus at Forschungsreaktor (about 20 minutes). The Physics-Department I is only 200 meters away. Just follow the signs to the main entrance.

By Car
Leave the highway no. 9 (A9) at the exit Garching Nord. Follow the sign to the Forschungsinstitute. Head straight on at the next traffic lights. Following the main road and turn left after 500 m. Pass the Forschungs-Reaktor which can be unambiguously identified by its egg-like shape. Turn right after 20 meters and you will find the entrance of the physics department right behind the end of this street.
